Carrie trained in drama at Clean Break and since then performed in several plays such as '17 minutes' by Chloe Moss at the Soho theatre, Julius Caesar at the Donmar Warehouse directed by Phyllida Lloyd (she played the soothsayer and Octavius' servant). Her comments regarding 'A woman inside': "I wanted to be part of 'A woman inside' because I can relate and empathise with the characters. I wanted to show people how it truly feels from the inside. To show how prison affects the relationships between the mother and child. I think this play is beautiful, very subtle and a real eye opener."
