The Actors

Carrie Rock

Barbara

Carrie trained in drama at Clean Break and since then performed in several plays such as  '17 minutes' by Chloe Moss at the Soho theatre, Julius Caesar at the Donmar Warehouse directed by Phyllida Lloyd (she played the soothsayer and Octavius' servant). She will also soon be the bride in "Pastoral" at the Soho theatre (25th of April - 8th of June)

Her comments regarding 'A woman inside': "I wanted to be part of 'A woman inside' because I can relate and empathise with the characters. I wanted to show people how it truly feels from the inside. To show how prison affects the relationships between the mother and child. I think this play is beautiful, very subtle and a real eye opener."

Tracy Radzan

Sharon

Her credits include: 'The Mill On the Floss' at the Albany theatre where she played the part of Maggie. 'Popcorn' by Ben Elton, playing Velvet Delemitri at the Man in the Moon Theatre. 'Episode' at the 'Lion and Unicorn' playing Heenie. 'Yerma' at The New Galleries Theatre.

Her comments about 'A woman inside': "I was very interested to immerse myself into an unfamiliar world where I get an opportunity to work with actors from Clean Break and to be a part of a project that has depth and an insight into the world of prison"

As for Sharon's part : " I found Sharon a complex character , who, due to several negative experiences and several incarcerations has created many layered barriers. Discovering her humanity, sensitivity and vulnerability was particularly challenging and exciting to explore"

Jennifer Joseph

Jennifer Joseph, an ex student of CleanBreak theatre company, completed PL1/PL2 Access to Theatre and Writing for Theatre all with distinction level.
She has also performed Cleaning up at Oval house written by Winsome Pinnock, Cleanbreak's 17mins at various venues, curtain lift at Tristram Bates theatre for the Quick production. Most recently she just ended a five month run in the all female cast of Julius Caesar at the Donmar Warehouse directed by Phyllida Lloyd.

Suzanna Frances Garton

Prison officer

Suzanna is in training at Central School of Speech and Drama.  Previous theatre credits include Nancy in ‘Oliver!’, Evelyn Daly in ‘Waters of the Moon’, and Phyl in ‘Cider with Rosie’.

Her comments on ‘A Woman Inside’ – “I’m honoured to be part of this complex play, it's beautiful - the connect and disconnect between the women as they each try to cope with the intensity of their emotional journey in such close confines where everything is amplified.  As an actress I’m excited at the challenges the play presents and the opportunity to learn through Sophie’s directing.”
